New to Oldschool MU? These steps take you from nothing to your first hunt in Lorencia.
1. Create an account
Make your account on this website. The ID and password you choose are the ones you type in the game. Adding an e-mail address is optional, but it is the only way to reset a forgotten password yourself. Create account
2. Download and unzip
Get the client from the download page and unzip it anywhere, for example C:\Games\OldschoolMU. There is nothing to install. Windows may warn that Main.exe is from an unknown publisher: click "More info", then "Run anyway". Download
3. Start the game
Start Main.exe, click the server, choose a channel and sign in. The client is already set to our server; you never type an address.
4. Choose a class
- Dark Knight: the melee fighter. Simple, sturdy, strong at every level.
- Dark Wizard: the mage. Fragile early, then the best area damage in the game.
- Fairy Elf: the archer and the healer. Her buffs make every party stronger.
- Summoner: curses and summoned beasts. Unusual and rewarding.
- Magic Gladiator, Dark Lord, Rage Fighter: unlocked once a character on your account reaches level 220, 250 and 150.
5. Your first hours
Buy a few potions from Potion Girl Amy at the south gate, hunt Spiders and Budge Dragons outside Lorencia, and put your level-up points into the main attribute of your class. The Dungeon opens at level 15 and Devias from about 20. The guide has the maps and their levels. Guide
